With neighbours like Francoforte and Superstar Waffles, this end of Williams Lane had enough evening cred, but someone needed to step up and cater for the breakfast and in-between crowd – and hello Babooshka. The coffee is great but it’s really the food offering that’ll have you coming back. The Dukkah Eggs and the Tsar’s breakfast are a must, as is the breakfast named after the establishment – the Babooshka. That’s three knockouts and at least three visits…

Yes the coffee is good and yes the venue is the requisite amount of “cool” but what this place is all about is writ large in it’s name – toasted grilled cheese sandwiches. There are some out there combinations like the Pear Grillz or the Danny Zuccho but regardless of what you choose you’ll never leave disappointed. Keeping it real – the space is frequently used for small gigs for local & up and coming artists.
